Senior Advisor Grants and Business Services

DIA is seeking to appoint a Senior Advisor Grants and Business Services within the Three Waters Reform Programme. The role is brand new and is for a fixed term to 30 June 2024.
The role is primarily responsible for the establishment and administration of grants to be made available to 67 Councils across New Zealand. The appointee will have oversight of the whole grants process from proposals to delivery. Working alongside the Chief Advisor, the Senior Advisor will plan and forecast expenditure of grants together with subject matter experts, ensuring the efficient and effective distribution of grants based on grant agreements timeframes. They will monitor whether the receiver of grants is on track to achieve the intended purpose the grant was received for and will review and make recommendations accordingly.
At present, the two biggest Programme grants the Senior Advisor, Grants and Business Services will be responsible for are the $2B better-off package and Council Stimulus Funding ($523.1K).
Candidates are sought who have senior advisor level experience across different government agencies in areas such as policy, project management, procurement, risk and assurance, commercial and/or corporate services. The ideal candidate will engage well with a variety of stakeholders, able to influence others confidently while meeting tight deadlines and achieving clear outcomes amid ambiguity. They will be able to communicate and manage complex information well, using initiative and risk mitigation skills to consistently apply sound judgement.
