Te Tatau o te Whare Kahu, the Midwifery Council aims to protect the health and safety of wahine and birthing people experiencing midwifery care through an effective and efficient regulatory framework. The Council has key relationships with midwives, the Health and Disability Commissioner, the Ministry of Health, legal professionals, and professional associations and other health authorities. The Council’s objectives are to be proactive, innovative and strategic in its decision-making.
The Programmes Administrator role is tasked with managing programmes that ensure midwives are competent to practise. This includes high-level monitoring of practitioners’ participation in professional development programmes and reviewing the effectiveness of same. There will also be some administrative responsibilities.
You will be an administrator who has ideally gained experience of working in a regulatory environment. You must have a customer-focus work ethos and be an excellent communicator, as you will be liaising with practitioners and the health sector. You will enjoy working in a small-team environment and be agile and personable. A tertiary qualification is highly desirable.
