Iwi Liaison Manager
- Pan Tribal Representation.
- Regional issues that matter.
- Wellington based role.
The Wellington Regional Leadership Committee (WRLC) brings together key leaders from across the Wellington, Kāpiti, Horowhenua and Wairarapa region from local government, central government, and iwi organisations to guide, shape and facilitate new collaborative outcomes for our region. They will navigate some of our biggest challenges and opportunities. There are three areas of responsibility: The Wellington Regional Growth Framework, Regional Economic Development, and Regional Economic Recovery.
We are searching for an Iwi Liaison Manager to be part of this team who will be implementing projects that will affect how our children and grandchildren live, get around the region, deal with climate change impacts and live in their neighbourhood. Are you someone who could work with the team to ensure that Māori/iwi/whānau voices are woven into the story telling and the outcomes for our region and planet? This is a great opportunity to ensure that the things that are important for Māori are heard through your mahi with the seven iwi partners.
You’ll also be skilled at navigating through multiple layers of government, iwi organisations and mana whenua groups. With a knack for simplifying complexity, you’ll have a proven reputation for being an outstanding communicator. Your heart will be deeply connected to this mahi and kaupapa as a result of whakapapa connections to manawhenua in the rohe pōtae. You’ll need to be comfortable and competent within te ao Māori and be a fluent speaker and writer of te reo Māori.
