Hawke’s Bay DHB (HBDHB) delivers public health services to a population of 165,000, with 3,500 staff, through a service network that covers the East Coast of the North Island.  Seeking to appoint a Director of Nursing, Hospital, this critical role will contribute to HBDHB’s delivery of health services to this unique region in alignment with its shared values and behaviours: he kauanuanu (respect), Ākina (improvement), raranga te tira (partnership), and tauwhiro (care).

In this critical senior clinical leadership role, reporting to the Chief Nursing & Midwifery Officer, you will be accountable for professional services, nursing , clinical governance, consumer experiences, and inter-professional leadership within the Hospital Group. You will ensure te tiriti o Waitangi  and other aspirations of Māori living in Hawke’s Bay are at the forefront of decision making. Working with your senior operational counterparts and their groups you will ensure that consistent and cohesive professional strategies, standards and approaches are applied. You will be recognised for your brave leadership and your ability to influence. Your extensive technical experience gained in acute hospital settings will enable you to balance your decision making to be supportive of achieving health equity through improving access to care and transforming models of care in alignment with the community’s needs.

An effective communicator and experienced planner, you will be confident and positive in change environments. You will be recognised for your effective engagement with stakeholders and partnerships, and recognised for having developed and delivered robust hospital services that meet consumers’ needs.
