ZEALANDIA is the world’s first fully fenced urban ecosanctuary with an extraordinary 500-year restoration and conservation vision.  It was named one of the World’s 100 Greatest Places by Time magazine in 2019.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the senior leadership team in a critical role that will help deepen and expand the organisation’s network of relationships externally.
You’ll have direct oversight of key externally focused areas of Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne operations covering the way they engage with people including mana whenua and tangata whenua, learners, partners, supporters, funders and other stakeholders, visitors, and the wider community. This involves leading a team of staff devising and running programmes in bi-cultural engagement, learning, visitor experience, fundraising, and communications.
You’ll have outstanding relationship management skills and be recognised for building collaborative, mutually rewarding internal and external relationships. You’ll provide organisation-wide leadership to support ongoing work that reflects te ao Māori and mātauranga Māori in day-to-day operations, and foster partnerships with mana whenua and tangata whenua. You will be supported by a team of Lead Rangers, whose key responsibilities include: programme development, delivery and reporting; business planning; resource allocation and cost management; day to day work flow; management and mentoring of their direct reports; and induction of staff, volunteers and interns.
