Manatū Taonga, Ministry for Culture and Heritage, helps enrich the lives of all New Zealanders by promoting a confident and connected culture. The Ministry supports many of New Zealand’s arts, media, heritage and sports organisations, advises government on cultural matters and provides research and resources for everyone to access.
The DCE Investments and Outcomes is accountable for ensuring the organisation has a set of integrated capability plans to enable delivery of a purpose-built funding system for the Ministry. They will build and shape new teams as a priority and will develop, integrate and lead new systems to ensure that investment is managed effectively and with appropriate risk management.
Candidates are sought with a proven track record of outstanding leadership as a senior executive and with prior experience of developing a funding system and team in a public sector setting. The successful candidate will also have strong financial acumen and demonstrated experience in evaluating business cases, providing financial analysis and reporting, and in risk assessment.
Attributes sought include well-developed relationship and stakeholder management skills and a strong understanding of the issues affecting culture and heritage in New Zealand. As a member of the executive leadership team, the position will share collective responsibility for the strategic leadership and direction of the organisation.
The appointment will be for a fixed term of three years.
