Reporting to the Group Manager Customer and Community Partnerships, the Manager Strategic Planning and Development will lead a small team and will oversee the overall strategic framework for the district, the Integrated Spatial Plan (Central Hawke’s Bay 2050), the Long-term Plan and the District Plan review process. There will also be a focus on Council’s core well-being strategies.

This position would suit a manager who has a generalist experience of local government. If you have a background in strategic planning or corporate planning, that would be ideal. You will have experience of leading a team of professionals, and be an excellent communicator and an outstanding relationship developer. You will be politically aware and have an understanding of te ao Māori and the principles of partnership relating to te Tiriti o Waitangi.
