The LPG and Gas Associations are seeking a new Chief Executive due to the forthcoming retirement of their very long-standing Executive Director. This is an interesting and dynamic time to be taking up this leadership role in the light of the government’s net-zero carbon 2050 objective and the changes proposed by the Climate Change Commission. The key objective of the role is to make sure the Associations’ members’ position and perspective is taken into account in any proposed changes.
Based in Wellington, at their national office, this role will require you to be the coordinated voice of the gas and LPG industries with central government and key stakeholders. You will need to be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role, to have excellent relationship and presentation skills, and to understand how policy is developed and how to influence its creation. This will include you working across allied industry groups when appropriate.
You will need to have good impact and influencing skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. You will need to have media experience, and to be comfortable being the primary spokesperson for the organisations. You will also be responsible for the management of the office and its organisational compliance and needs, together with the coordination of, and attendance at, board meetings.
Entry to New Zealand from all countries remains strictly controlled to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. You may only apply for this role if you have the right to work in New Zealand. For information about New Zealand work or residence visas, please visit www.immigration.govt.nz
