Assistant Chief Executive – Strategic Policy & Performance

Christchurch City Council is looking for an exceptional leader to be at the forefront of driving the exciting and challenging “next chapter” in our city’s regeneration and growth. As an organisation we are committed to providing effective leadership and stewardship for Christchurch, and most importantly delivering a better service to our residents.
Forming part of a newly established senior leadership team, the Assistant Chief Executive – Strategic Policy and Performance will lead the delivery of Council’s key services that include strategic policy, legal, communications, marketing and engagement, Civic and International Relations, performance management, research and monitoring, resilience, asset management, the Programme Management Office and teams that support the Mayor and Chief Executive’s office.
We are looking for an innovator who is experienced and inspirational, to head this area and provide strategic advice to the Chief Executive, Mayor and elected members. You must have proven experience as an established leader of a large business unit or organisation, and be focused on the delivery of exceptional services to support the City. We expect you to build strong partnerships and relationships. You will have an understanding of local government or central government and be politically aware.
