This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Your leadership skills and track record of working with the media, communities and other stakeholders will be a given. You will be well practised in providing advice to Ministers’ offices, chief executives, and senior leaders.
The relationships Oranga Tamariki has with Māori and Pasifika communities are critical to its success. To be successful in this role you will have a high level of comfort, understanding and experience of working in te ao Māori, and working in partnership with iwi/Māori organisations.
Oranga Tamariki is dedicated to supporting any child in New Zealand whose wellbeing is at significant risk of harm. It also works with young people who may have offended or are likely to offend. It plays an important role in ensuring that the voices of children and young people, whānau, hapū and iwi, caregivers, Māori organisations and NGOs are part of the conversations about the care of children at risk of harm.
This is the ideal role for someone who wants to use their considerable leadership and communications skills to champion the mahi of protecting and supporting children, young people, their families and whānau.
