The purpose of this role is to provide objective assurance, advice and insight on governance, risk management and internal control processes to the Executive Leadership Team and the Finance, Audit and Risk Management Subcommittee. As member of a small professional team you will be responsible for leading audit engagements and ensuring effective solutions are delivered to the business. You will have the opportunity to be a part of a variety of initiatives that power Council to be best placed to achieve its strategic outcomes.



To be successful you must have demonstrable experience in the practical application of assurance methodology, tools and approaches, and be able to champion organisational improvement. With an eye on the big-picture you will use strong interpersonal, facilitation, communication and influencing skills to help lead the organisation through the assurance plan. You will be rewarded by working for an organisation where you have a close involvement in outcomes that directly impact the community and city in which you live. Ideally you will be CIA qualified and have an awareness of contemporary assurance frameworks.
